Andreas Varro curated for exhibition at Gamla Kraftstationen

Dystopia at Gamla Kraftstationen

At Gamla Kraftstationen in Deje, Andreas Varro presented his large-scale series Dystopia – an exhibition of 24 works displayed within the dramatic industrial setting of the former power station. The raw architecture, with walls still bearing traces of its mechanical past, created a contrast to Varro’s digitally constructed visual worlds.

The exhibition offered a experience where  works merged with the history of the building. The interplay between photography and the machine hall amplified the very themes explored in Dystopia: the impact of technology, human vulnerability, consumption, power, and control.

The 24 works showcased some of the series’ most defining motifs – from dystopian visions of the future to sharp reflections of contemporary society. With meticulous detail and charged symbolism, the exhibition invited visitors to reflect on the fragility of our time and the forces shaping tomorrow’s world.
